A soft, water-like texture that scatters light while keeping the room bright. A favorite for shower doors.

Flemish

A classic rippled pattern with an old-world feel — heavy privacy, lots of character.

Grey textured glass sample

Grey

Neutral smoked glass for a modern, moody look without going fully opaque.

Rain textured glass sample

Rain

Vertical streaks that read like water on a windowpane. Excellent privacy, very forgiving on spots.

Fine vertical fluting — the current favorite for modern and transitional bathrooms.

Common questions

Choosing glass and hardware

Texture, tint, thickness and finish — the questions that come up in the showroom every week.

What is the difference between clear and low-iron shower glass?+

Standard clear glass has a faint green cast on the exposed edges, which is most noticeable on 1/2" glass and against white tile. Low-iron glass removes that tint so whites stay white and stone colors read true. It costs roughly 15 to 25 percent more.

Which shower glass texture hides water spots best?+

Patterned glass like rain, reeded and satin hides spotting and soap film far better than clear, because the surface breaks up the reflection. Satin also gives the most privacy. Central Texas water is hard, so texture plus a protective coating is the low-maintenance combination.

Can you match hardware to my existing plumbing fixtures?+

Yes. We stock brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze and brass, and can bring samples to your home so you can hold them against your faucet and shower trim before ordering.

Is a protective glass coating worth it?+

For hard-water areas like Georgetown, yes. A factory-applied coating seals the microscopic pores in the glass so minerals rinse away instead of etching. You still squeegee, but cleaning takes minutes instead of scrubbing.

What thickness of glass should I choose?+

Frameless enclosures use 3/8" or 1/2" tempered glass. 3/8" is the standard and suits most doors and panels; 1/2" feels heavier and more solid, and is worth it on tall panels or wide doors. Both are fully tempered safety glass.

Can I see the glass and finishes before ordering?+

Yes — every texture and hardware finish is on display in the Georgetown showroom, and we bring samples along on free in-home measures.

The Glass and Door Company did an amazing job on our frameless shower. From the measurement to the install, everything was on time and the crew was respectful of our home. The finished product looks incredible.

We had a foggy window that two other companies wanted to replace entirely. These guys replaced just the glass unit for a fraction of the price and it looks brand new.
